Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
Gullwise helps you find deals and get alerts when prices drop. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
- What you track: product links, keyword alerts, target prices and your alert settings.
- Notification details: your chosen channels, phone number (only if you turn on text alerts), and a browser push subscription (only if you enable phone/browser notifications).
- Member prices: if you use the Gullwise browser extension, the price shown to you on product pages you already track. The extension never reads passwords, payment details or other page content.
- Billing: if you subscribe, payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, never your full card number.
- Support messages: what you send us by email or the feedback form, so we can answer and fix problems.
- Usage data: sign-in session cookies, and a record of what you click or view on Gullwise — for example a deal or store link, a local deal page, or a business's Directions, phone or website button. Each record notes what was clicked, the page, the area, the time, and your account if you're signed in. We also record the searches you make and the filters you pick on the deals page. If you're not signed in, these records carry a random browser id kept in a cookie (
gw_device; older browsers may still have it asdh_device) instead of an account; if you later sign in on that browser, they're linked to your account. We don't record your IP address with any of it. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies. - Businesses: if you post a local deal, the business details you enter (name, address, phone, website) are shown publicly with the deal; your contact name and email are not.
How we use it
- To check prices, match deals to your alerts, and send the notifications you asked for.
- To keep you signed in, enforce plan limits, and process subscriptions.
- To keep the service secure and working.
- To sort deals "For you": what you track, your keyword alerts, and what you search and click on Gullwise decide which kinds of deals we show you first. This stays on Gullwise; you can turn it off in Settings.
- To understand what people find useful and improve the site, and to show businesses totals for their own deals (views, clicks, directions). Businesses never see who you are.
We don't sell your personal information and we don't use it for advertising.
Services we rely on
We share only what each service needs to do its job: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email), Twilio (text messages), Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in, if you choose it), and Anthropic (to compare product titles for "similar products" alerts — titles and your search words only). Store links may include affiliate codes; the store then knows you arrived from Gullwise, as with any link.
Your choices
- Turn any notification channel on or off in Settings, or choose none.
- Remove tracked items and alerts at any time; revoke the browser extension under Settings → Extension.
- Cancel a subscription from Settings → Manage billing.
- Ask us to delete your account and data by emailing support@gullwise.com.
Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Price history (which is not personal) is kept to power charts. Deleted accounts are removed from our database along with their tracked items, alerts and notifications. Deal, price and click history is kept as a long-term archive; when an account is deleted, its click records stay only as anonymous counts (no longer linked to anyone).
Children
Gullwise isn't intended for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and notify you of significant changes.
